EAMSET RANKING

The present system of ranking in eamset is not justified. it is mostly favouring corporate students.The students from government colleges appearing eamset are not getting the sort of training in attending the entrance test.The Intermediate Board has not ensured that such training is available in all the junior colleges in the State.With the result, the students who can afford are under taking studies in Corporate Colleges.Most of these colleges are located in Cities and major towns. If one goes by the results one can observe that lions' share in ranks has gone to these Corporate Colleges. The intelligent students from other than corporate colleges though performed well in 10+2 regular examination could not score well in EAMSET as they lac special training which the corporate colleges are offering their students through out the two year course.Added to this, the weightage given to intermediate marks is only 25 marks.Please look at the injustice;two year regular course with no special training on the EAMSET pattern and four special subjects for 600marks get a weightage of 25 marks only ,while the eamset test for 160 marks get a weightage of 75 marks.Definitely this method is in favour of Corporate colleges.Poor students from rural,semi urban back ground are worst affected.More than getting a rank,they are more demoralised . The matter requires serious attention by the CM,Education Minister,Intermediate Board.If EAMSET can not be abolished ,the weightage should just be reversed by giving 75 marks to Intermediate and 25 to the test.This may be adopted from the test results just announced
